Calgary Summer Adventure Packages

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything families ask before booking a Calgary Adventure package, gathered in one place.

Before you book

The basics of how a package comes together

Planning a Calgary summer trip usually comes with a lot of small questions before the bigger decisions feel settled. This page collects the ones we hear most often, grouped by topic, so you can find an answer without having to dig through several different pages.

If your question isn’t covered here, treat this as a starting point rather than the full picture — every family’s trip looks a little different, and we’re always happy to talk through the specifics that don’t fit neatly into a general answer.

The questions below are grouped into five areas: the basics of what’s included, choosing between our two hotel partners, building out your attraction lineup, timing your trip around the season, and planning for larger or multi-generational groups. Skim ahead to whichever section matches what’s on your mind.

What exactly is included in a Calgary Adventure package?
Every package bundles a hotel stay — at either Deerfoot Inn & Casino or Service Plus Inns & Suites — with a set of attractions you choose from our list, combined into a single booking with one price.
Do we have to choose the hotel and attractions before booking, or can we decide later?
Having a rough idea of both helps us build an accurate itinerary and price, but there’s usually room to fine-tune specific details once your dates are confirmed.
How many attractions should we plan for?
Most families choose four to five attractions for a three-to-five-night stay. Fewer, well-paced attractions generally make for a better trip than trying to fit in everything on the list.
Is this different from just booking a hotel and attraction tickets separately ourselves?
Yes — everything is arranged as one package instead of several separate bookings, and the itinerary is sequenced with drive times and pacing in mind rather than left for you to figure out.

Choosing a hotel

Deerfoot Inn & Casino vs. Service Plus Inns & Suites

What’s the main difference between the two hotel partners?
Deerfoot Inn & Casino offers a more full-service stay with an on-site casino and a southeast location close to Deerfoot Trail. Service Plus Inns & Suites is a simpler, more budget-friendly option that puts more of your spending toward attractions.
Is one hotel closer to the attractions than the other?
Deerfoot Inn & Casino sits closer to the southeast cluster of attractions, including the Calgary Zoo and Heritage Park. Both hotels offer reasonable access to Calaway Park, though it’s a longer drive from either due to its location on the western edge of the city.
Can we book multiple rooms at either hotel?
Yes, both hotels can accommodate multi-room bookings for larger families or groups traveling together.
Is the casino at Deerfoot Inn & Casino separate from family areas?
Yes, it operates as its own space, apart from guest room floors and family common areas.

Attractions and itineraries

Building the day-to-day of your trip

Can we mix full-day and half-day attractions in the same trip?
Yes, and it’s actually the most common approach — pairing a full-day outing like Calaway Park with shorter stops like Mini Golf & Arcade or Heritage Park tends to keep the pace comfortable.
What happens if the weather changes our plans?
Keeping at least one indoor attraction, such as House of Skate, the Trampoline Park, or the Cineplex Theatre, in your lineup gives your itinerary a built-in backup for a rainy or smoky day.
Can attractions be swapped after the package is booked?
Changes can often be accommodated where availability allows — the earlier you let us know, the more flexibility there tends to be.
Are the attraction tickets handled for us, or do we book them separately?
They’re handled as part of your package — you won’t need to separately book or pay for tickets to the attractions included in your itinerary.

Timing and logistics

Dates, seasons, and practical planning

When is the best time of year to visit?
Calgary’s family attraction season runs roughly late May through early September. July and August are the busiest months, while late May, June, and early September tend to offer better value and smaller crowds.
How far in advance should we book?
A few weeks ahead is a reasonable target, especially for peak summer weekends when hotel rooms and attraction days can fill up faster.
How many nights should we plan for?
Three to four nights is the most common package length, giving enough time to properly enjoy four or five attractions without rushing.
Is this a good option as part of a longer Alberta road trip?
Yes — many families use a Calgary Adventure package as one leg of a wider trip that also includes Banff, Canmore, or Drumheller.

Families and group sizes

Making a package work for your specific group

Do you offer packages for larger families or multiple families traveling together?
Yes, both hotel partners can accommodate multi-room bookings, and larger groups often see the most value from bundling everything into one package rather than booking separately.
Can grandparents or other adults be included in the package?
Absolutely — packages are built around your group as a whole, not just parents and kids, and can be adjusted to fit multi-generational travel.
Is there a minimum group size to book a package?
No, packages work for small families and larger groups alike — the attraction and room selections simply scale to fit your group.
Can two separate families combine their trips into one coordinated booking?
Yes, this is a common request, and coordinating room assignments and shared attraction days across two families is something we can arrange.

Payments and pricing

How package pricing is put together

Is the price shown the total for the whole family, or per person?
Package pricing is quoted for the full booking based on your room configuration and chosen attractions, not on a strict per-person basis.
Are there any hidden fees beyond the quoted package price?
The package price is built to reflect your hotel stay and selected attractions in full — any optional extras would be discussed separately before being added to your booking.
Does the price change based on the time of year we visit?
Yes, pricing reflects seasonal demand, with peak summer months generally priced higher than late spring or early fall dates.
Do you offer discounts for booking further in advance?
Earlier bookings often have access to better availability and, at times, more favorable pricing than last-minute requests during peak season.

Still have a question?

If your question isn’t covered here, reach out directly — we’re happy to walk through the specifics of your family’s trip, whichever hotel and attractions you’re considering.

We’d rather answer one extra question before you book than have you second-guessing a detail once your trip is already underway. No question is too small if it’s the thing standing between you and a confirmed booking.
